ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) - A new St. Louis marathon will rock the streets this fall for a good cause.
The Solutia Rock ‘n Roll St. Louis Marathon will hold its inaugural run Oct. 23, and will benefit Team Activities for Special Kids (TASK), a charity organization that provides recreational opportunities for special needs children. Tuesday, organizers revealed the race route, which will travel through downtown St. Louis and the city’s iconic surrounding neighborhoods.
Runners will be urged on by local high school cheerleading groups, as well as music along each mile of the course.
The event offers both a full and half-marathon, and already 9,000 runners have registered, with an estimated 5,000 more expected. Current registration is $85 for the half-marathon and $95 for the full marathon, but those prices will rise after June 30.
