UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (AP) — A statue honoring rock ‘n’ roll icon Chuck Berry will be installed next week in the St. Louis suburb of University City.
The formal dedication of the statue honoring the St. Louis native will be July 29. The 8-foot sculpture will be on Delmar Boulevard across from Blueberry Hill, the bar and restaurant where the 84-year-old musician still performs monthly.
The concrete curbs along Delmar near the statue will be etched with the lyrics to Berry songs such as “Roll Over Beethoven,” “Sweet Little Sixteen,” and “Johnny B. Goode.”
