2 Uncovered WWI Medals Go On Display

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Two World War I military medals found in a safe deposit box are going on display in the State Museum in the Capital.

State Treasurer Clint Zweifel will be joined with the Kansas City soldier’s family Thursday in Jefferson City as he unveils the Distinguished Service Cross and a French Croix de Guerre.

The medals were turned over to Zweifel’s office as unclaimed property. The medal is on loan to the museum.
