Berkman to Start for N.L. All-Stars

ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- The St. Louis Cardinals will have three representatives on the 2011 National League All Star team for the July 12th game in Arizona.

Fans selected outfielder Lance Berkman to the starting lineup in his first year as a Redbird.

Catcher Yadier Molina and outfielder Matt Holliday were picked as reserves.

Former Cardinal Placido Polanco (Philadelphia) will start for the N.L. at third base. Ex-Redbird Chris Perez (Cleveland)was named to the American League All-Star team as a pitcher.

Mizzou Tiger alum Aaron Crow (Kansas City) was also selected for the American League pitching staff.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – St. Louis will have one player in the starting lineup for the National League at the July 12th Major League Baseball All Star Game in Arizona. 

Fans selected Lance Berkman of the Cardinals to be one of the outfielders.

Former Cardinal Placido Polanco of the Phillies will start at third base.

Other National League starters announced Sunday include: 1B Prince Fielder, 2B Rickie Weeks, and OF Ryan Braun of Milwaukee; SS Jose Reyes of the Mets; OF Matt Kemp of the Dodgers; and C Brian McCann of Atlanta.

The pitchers and reserves will be named later.
