ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Sunday’s heavy storms have pulled the plug on the Maroon5 concert and the fireworks for Fair St. Louis at the arch.
Organizers checked their equipment, the grounds and the forecast and decided it would be best to close the fairgrounds for the night and prepare for a full festival on the Fourth of July.
The decision to call off the Sunday night concert and the fireworks display came just before 7 p.m. and was based on the safety of spectators and staff.
At the height of the thunderstorm, a tractor-trailer and a car collided at a key intersection, where Interstates 44 and 55 merge just south of downtown.
The truck overturned.
That closed the highways for a time.
