CHICAGO (AP) — Repair crews are still working to get the lights back on for about 193,000 ComEd customers who have been without power since a fast-moving storm blew through Illinois on Monday.
A ComEd spokesman says the remaining outages include 123,000 customers in Chicago’s northern suburbs, 39,000 west of the city and 8,000 in the south suburbs. About 21,000 customers are also without service in the city of Chicago.
The utility says more than 650 repair crews are working on the problem, but some customers could be without power until the weekend.
The spokesman says ComEd has brought in crews from as far away as Pennsylvania and Louisiana to help with repairs. Since Monday, ComEd has restored power to 765,000 customers.
