ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – When it comes to drug and alcohol use, Missouri ranks in the bottom ten in nearly all categories according to a new federal report.

This new state-by-state report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration puts Missouri near the bottom when it comes to several addictions —

“Missouri was actually among the lowest ten states in illicit drug use in the past month for kids 12 to 17,” says study author Fran Harding.

Harding says alcohol dependence last year among people 12 and older in Missouri was in the bottom ten as well.

“This is all very good news that Missouri would make this type of change.”
