Firearm Plea Could Result In 10-Year Prison Term

EAST ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) –  A Cahokia man faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

East St. Louis police discovered a gun in a car owned by 25-year-old Barry Lee Deboise II after he was found smoking marijuana at a gas station back in February.

He’d earlier been convicted of a felony offense, meaning he could not legally own or possess a firearm.

Deboise could face a maximum 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he’s sentenced in November.
