O’FALLON, MO. (KMOX) - It’s more crowded at the Salvation Army Food Pantry in O’fallon Missouri these days.
The number of families in need has taken a dramatic jump from just a year ago.
A tenfold increase.
Officials say the food pantry served about 45 families each month over a year ago. The pantry now serves anywhere from 479 to 570 families each month.
And the need , says the Salvation Army, goes beyond the need for food and money. It needs volunteers as well.
Volunteers must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and should be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
For additional information or to volunteer call Case Manager Celia Buerman at 636-240-4969 ext. 238.
Food can be donated during business hours at #1 William Booth Drive in O’fallon Missouri.
