ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – St. Louis County faces a surprising expenditure that might cost a bit of cash.
The county has seen about 4,000 more property assessment appeals than expected and there aren’t enough resources to handle the overload. Tonight’s County Council agenda includes a request from the Director of Revenue for an extra $63,000 to deal with the onslaught of appeals.
That figure includes $55,000 to pay hearing officers for longer hours and $8,000 to hire temporary clerical workers.
