VANDALIA, IL (KMOX)- Illinois State Police say the private coach bus involved in this morning’s accident on I-70 east of Vandalia, was part of actress/singer Miranda Cosgrove’s entourage.
Police say Cosgrove and her mother were the only people on the bus who were injured. Both were taken to an Effingham hospital. People magazine reports Miranda suffered a broken ankle.
Master Sgt. Cory Ristvedt tells KMOX the bus ran into a tractor-trailer that had overturned, partially blocking one lane of the highway.
The truck’s driver, 46 year old Phillip Carter of St. Louis has been flown to a St. Louis hospital, along with the bus’ driver, Rodney McCluer of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Two others, who were helping the driver after the initial accident, were also injured. They were taken to a Fayette County hospital.
Cosgrove, who acted in the TV show “iCarly” and had a role in Jack Black’s “School of Rock” is in the midst of her “Dancing Summer Crazy” tour. She played in Kettering, Ohio Wednesday and was scheduled to play in Wichita, Kansas Friday night. That show has been postponed.
