Extremely talented, hardworking and dedicated. Three St. Louis teens, who’ve long been members of the fabulous St. Louis Arches, are all grown up and heading to college. I am so proud of them, but sad to see them go.
Sidney “Iking” Bateman, Elliana Hentoff-Killian and Terrance “T-Roc” Robinson have been accepted at two of the most elite circus schools in the world (Iking is going to École nationale de cirque in Montreal, Elliana and T-Roc are going to École de cirque de Québec).
For years, I’ve taken my daughter to Circus Flora and she, like me, has been enchanted by the St. Louis Arches. Elliana’s graceful performances on the lyra inspired my shy girl to enroll in circus class. The look on her face when she realized Elliana would be her teacher was priceless. Iking has a personality as huge as his talent and T-Roc is a gentleman with a quiet grace about him.
The St. Louis Arches are part of Circus Harmony, the circus school housed at City Museum. It’s an incredible program that not only teaches circus arts, but character. All of the Arches are help at the school and are expected to behave well, support each other and be role models for the younger kids. They work very hard, too, performing all over the community (and the world!).
I’ve watched my daughter grow in so many ways during her time at Circus Harmony, much of it due to these three teens. They will be missed!
