ST. LOUIS, MO. (KMOX) — If you like to talk or text at the movies, Wehrenberg Theaters says go somewhere else.
Wehrenberg’s Chief Operating Officer Bill Menke says the new “zero tolerance” policy should make most moviegoers happy because cell phone usage during movies is a regular complaint.
Effective immediately, guests in all 15 Wehrenberg theaters must set their cell phones on vibrate or silent before the start of the previews, and if you want to talk or text on your cell phone, you must leave the auditorium to do it. That includes just checking the time on your phone.
Wehrenberg says theater personnel will check on a regular basis, and if you’re found violating the new policy, you will be asked to leave the theater without a refund. There will be no exceptions.
Other Changes:
If you live near Wehrenberg’s St. Clair 10 Cine in Illinois, your admission prices are going down and your movie selections are changing. Starting August 26th, admission for all films at that theater will be $3 a person. In addition, tickets for all shows will only be $1.50 on Tuesdays.
However, the films you’ll be able to see won’t be first-run motion pictures. They will be what Wehrenberg is calling “second-run” films you may have missed in original release, or perhaps want to see again. The St. Clair 10 is located in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
