Carnahan Jobs Tour Kicks Off in Kirkwood

KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KMOX) –  “I’m running for Congress next year.”

That statement Tuesday morning from Congressman Russ Carnahan (D-Mo) during a stop in the St. Louis area.

But exactly which seat he’ll be gunning for in 2012 is still a big question mark.

“Stay tuned,” is all Carnahan will allow when asked about his campaign plans.

Meantime, Carnahan is keeping busy doing all the things a Congressional candidate does, including a jobs tour of St. Louis small businesses that runs all this week.

“Jobs need to be our top priority,” Carnahan said.  “Small businesses are the engine of our economy.  That’s why I’ll visit with small business owners across the St. Louis region, to listen to what they need to expand their businesses and create jobs.”

Carnahan plans to tour Shelter Works on South 3rd St. on Wednesday, and then PrintFlex Graphics on January Ave. Thursday.

He’ll then host an “export workshop” Friday morning in the Knight Center at Washington University, with registration beginning at 7:30 am.

So much involving jobs is either very long term, or construction projects with the money flow slowing or stopping once a building is completed. Not true with Kiel
Peabody-a money making machine year round. Mr. Carnahan please get them going on the parking garage, that’s jobs and more jobs. The best way to kill a place like this is by denying it parking. The best way to help it succeed, and therefore Downtown succeeds, is-parking. . .
