STL County Officer Shoots, Wounds Suspect

ST. LOUIS CO, Mo. (KMOX) – A 34 year old south St. Louis County man has now been charged after being shot by a St. Louis County Police officer.

Lt. Christopher Stocker tells KMOX the officer was attempting to arrest Jeffery Thompson on several felony charges in the 8200 block of Marvale Lane in Affton.

The two got into a verbal confrontation which escalated into a physical altercation.

“The suspect charged the officer with a knife.  The officer was left with no choice but to fire her department issued firearm” said Lt. Stocker.

Lt. Stocker says the officer, a ten year veteran, was not hurt.

Thompson remains in critical but stable condition.

He is now charged with multiple counts of burglary, robbery, assault and resisting arrest.
