Investigators Arrested 26 In Yearlong Child Porn Bust

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) — With 26 of Illinois’ worst child porn offenders now behind bars, law enforcement officials are gearing up for the next phase of what they call “Operation Glass House.”

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says they will focus on offenders known to be trading and watching the most violent videos. “Those depicting toddlers and young children being violently raped.”

Phase two begins after a year of arrests that ended with two Belleville men being taken into custody this week.

Investigators raided the home of 61-year-old Garold Semelka Wednesday and charged him with 10 counts of possessing aggravated child pornography. One charge stated that Semelka had a video of a girl under 13 performing sexual acts.

Madigan says that specific video, alone, was traded more than 300,000 times, with almost 1,000 of those in the state of Illinois.

48-year-old Mike Telkamp was also arrested with 10 similar counts.

In just the last sixty days, Madigan says her office caught more than 3,700 IP addresses trading child porn.
