Emergency Exercise At MidAmerica Airport Saturday

MASCOUTAH, Ill. (KMOX) — MidAmerica Airport will conduct a full scale emergency exercise Saturday.

Airport officials says the smoke and sirens will be part of the exercise and not a real emergency. So residents in the area should not be concerned.

The training starts at 9:00 a.m. and should wrap up around 11:30 a.m.

The airport conducts these exercises every other year to comply with the Federal Aviation Administration requirements to ensure local agencies are prepared for an actual emergency.

Various police and EMS first responders and firefighters from Scott Air Force Base, O’Fallon, Mascoutah, Lebanon, New Baden and East St. Louis will attend the excersice.
