SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Police say they are still trying to determine why a man fatally shot another man when the bus they were on stopped in Springfield, Missouri.
The 32-year-old victim and 25-year-old suspect were on a cross-country bus that started its route in Los Angeles. When the bus stopped at the Greyhound terminal in Springfield, Thursday, the suspect put a gun to the victim’s head and fired.
Witnesses did not report any altercation between the men on the bus before the shooting.
Springfield Police Lt. Scott Leven says that neither man was from Missouri or had any connection to Springfield.
The Springfield News-Leader reports some bus passengers ran when the shooting occurred, but others subdued the gunman.
