BENTON, Ill. (AP) –  A southern Illinois woman who hid her son for nearly two years as part of a custody dispute with his father has pleaded guilty and was ordered to spend two years on probation.

The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reports that 32-year-old Shannon Wilfong pleaded guilty Monday in Franklin County to obstructing a peace officer and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

A judge credited her with time already served.

Wilfong also pleaded guilty to four counts of unlawful interference with child visitation and was fined $400.

The now 9-year-old boy was hidden for nearly two years, at times behind a crawl space, before being found in September 2009 at the home of Wilfong’s mother, Diane Dobbs.

Dobbs pleaded guilty Monday to obstruction and was fined $1,000.
