UPDATE: Man Charged in Hit and Run in Soulard

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Prosecutors have now charged a man in connection with a fatal hit and run case in Soulard.

27 year old Emanuel Sanchez is charged in the death of 40 year old Gary Patch of Columbia, Illinois.

Patch was hit by a mini van that plowed into a group of people that had been fighting outside the Social House at 7th and Lafayette around 2:40 Thursday morning.

He was knocked into the air and then dragged beneath the vehicle.

Patch later died at an area hospital.

Sanchez of the 700 block of State Street is charged with Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, two counts of Armed Criminal Action and possession of marijuana.

Sanchez is being held without bond.

    I was a friend of Gary’s growing up and he was one of the best guys I knew. This was senseless and I hope they fry this punk!
