Kidnapper Linked To ATM Solutions Heist Sentenced

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A man who kidnapped two women in a crime connected to the $6.6 million ATM Solutions robbery in St. Louis was sentenced to 21 years in federal prison.

Thirty-three-year-old Marrion Dotson was sentenced Wednesday for his part in a plot to get a larger share of the robbery loot for another man. Dotson and two other men kidnapped the niece and daughter of a former girlfriend of one of the robbers. The girls were eventually released unharmed.

The kidnappers never received any ransom.

Dotson said Wednesday that he only drove the car and didn’t know about the kidnapping before it happened. He has not been otherwise linked to the August 2010 ATM Solutions robbery.

The two other kidnappers have already pleaded guilty.
