ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The housing market continues to take steps forward in St. Louis, even if they are small steps. President of the St. Louis Association of Realtors Nate Johnson says there
were only 282 more existing homes sold this year over last year.
1,045 were sold last year in St. Louis. 1,327 were sold this year.
Johnson says St. Louis has not experienced the same negative numbers as some other areas of the country, but he admits that new home construction continues to lag.
He says low interest rates have helped with the sale of existing homes.
Across the nation , new home sales fell to a six month low in August. The fourth straight monthly decline.
