Ameren Labadie Plant Hearing Set For Friday

Maria Keena

LABADIE, Mo. (KMOX)– People that live around the Ameren Labadie plant are concerned that a proposed landfill will end up in their backyards.

Patricia Schuba is the President of Labadie Environmental Organization and she tells KMOX, Franklin County Commissioners have released a draft, that is good news for Ameren, but bad news for citizen’s health and welfare.

Schuba says the landfill proposal, which has been a controversy for three years, could be safely constructed, but the primary objection, the landfill will be built in the flood plane.

This Friday’s meeting will be at 10:00 a.m. at the Franklin County Government Center in Union Missouri.
