JACKSON, Mo. (AP) — The estranged husband of a southeast Missouri woman missing since June 1 is scheduled to be in court next week and change his plea on a federal charge that he made an Internet threat against his wife’s sister.
The Southeast Missourian reports court documents show Clay Waller filed a motion to change his not guilty plea. The hearing is Monday in Jackson.
It wasn’t clear how he would change his plea. The options include guilty, no contest or an Alford plea, which would contend innocence but acknowledge there is enough evidence for a conviction.
Jacque Waller, the mother of 5-year-old triplets, was last seen near Clay Waller’s house in Jackson. He has been called a suspect in her disappearance, but has not been charged.
