Town Hall Meeting in St. George Could Be Last One Ever

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo.–  There’s a town hall meeting Thursday night in St. George, so residents can ask questions before a vote on whether to dissolve their tiny town.

Mayor Carmen Wilkerson continues to maintain that having St. Louis County take over is the smart thing to do.

“We think in St. George that it’s a very inefficient use of tax dollars to do things the way they have been done in the past,” she says.

But others are afraid of losing the village’s identity, and of higher property tax bills.

The meeting starts at 7 pm Thursday at the Southridge Condos club house in St. George.
