County Police: At-Large Gunman “A Concern For Everyone”

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) –  More than 24 hours after the director of a daycare center was gunned down at his north county home, the assailant still hasn’t been caught.

In fact, so far no one has come forward with any information about the suspect who killed 46-year-old Xavier Ferguson outside his home in the 9700 block of Nolte.

“There is an armed suspect on the loose and that is a concern for everyone,” said St. Louis County police spokesman Rick Eckhard in a news release updating the situation.

He adds there’s no indication whether Ferguson, director of the Chapel Praise Rich & Little daycare center, was targeted in the attack or if the shooting was random.

“We do not know,” Eckhard said.

Anyone with information on Monday morning’s shooting is urged to contact St. Louis County police at 889-2341, or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS.
