2 DeSoto Children Struck While Getting On Bus

DESOTO, Mo. (KMOX) — Two young boys are in hospitals after being hit by a car while boarding their school bus in DeSoto Wednesday morning.

Police say the six and eight year olds were hit in the 200 block of Amvets Drive, by a 22-year-old woman who did not stop for the bus’ stop sign arm.

Fire officials tell KMOX one of boys was thrown six to eight feet into the air. He’s been flown to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The other is at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. There’s no word on their conditions.

Police are questioning the car’s driver. The students attend Vineland Elementary School.
