ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – Police recapture an inmate who escaped police custody Tuesday night.

26-year-old Deangelo Johnson had managed to slip away from his police escort while he was being treated at St. Louis University hospital. Johnson was wearing chains around his ankle and waist when he escaped.

Johnson was later recaptured at a relative’s home in the 7800 block of Minnesota.

He was originally being held for burglary. No word on whether additional charges will be filed against him.
