FORT LEONARD WOOD, MO.(KMOX) – A deadly crash involving a military vehicle at Fort Leonard Wood leaves a mother dead and her son critically injured.
Christine Boone was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday afternoon. Her son 13 year old Jonathan Boone was flown to the University of Missouri hospital in Columbia were he is listed in critical condition.
KJPW radio reports that the Boone family lives south of the base. Post personnel have not released the names of the two soldiers in the vehicle, but announced Tuesday evening that what is called a Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck was involved.
Based on witnesses, the military vehicle crushed the Dodge Neon car. The crash is being investigated by Fort Leonard Wood military police and the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command.
