ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - It’s breast cancer awareness month and the Better Business Bureau is warning that some charities are not that charitable.

The B.B.B has put out an alert about donating to a group calling itself The Breast Cancer Society.

The B.B.B’s Bill Smith says last year the Arizona based charity spent more than 85 cents of every dollar to fundraising costs, like salaries , advertising and administrative costs.

He says the Breast Cancer Society received more than 48 million dollars last year from donors across the country.  The Breast Cancer Society is still doing business although its already been in trouble with Attorneys General in Missouri and other states.
