ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Apparently somebody’s trying to make a quick buck…illegally…during this World Series.
The St. Louis police department says officers have seized more than 1,100 pieces of counterfeit merchandise – including hundreds of unauthorized baseball caps and T-shirts.
Despite the seizure, no arrests have been made.
However, Major League Baseball has officials in town for just this type of thing, and they’ll be working with local authorities to try and track down the culprits.
A man waiting in line for a stadium bathroom reported he noticed his wallet missing after someone bumped into him.
And police reported that several suspects appeared to be trying to confuse stadium vendors with a “quick change” scam, though the vendors didn’t bite and no money was lost.
The men were arrested for trespassing after they were unable to produce tickets.
Police officials say they did have officers out in force and no car break-ins and no armed robberies Wednesday night.
