ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The man shot in north St. Louis this morning after he told some men that he did not know where they could buy drugs, has died.

25 year old Darrell Leach was outside his home in the 1300 block of Montclair shortly after midnight when a gray colored Pontiac Grand Am, carrying two to four men pulled up. After a brief exchange, one of the men allegedly shot Leach in the hip. The suspects remain at large.

Charges have been filed against the man police believe murdered a 63 year old man.

Saint Louis Police say Willie Perkins cooperated with 26-year old Lewis Grower and turned over his money. Grover was one of two men who allegedly accosted Perkins and two friends while they were talking in the 2900 block of North Jefferson last Thursday night.

Detectives say Grover demanded Perkins money. Perkins handed it over and Grover shot him in the head.
