Zoo Directors Bet a Big Pile on World Series Outcome

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  Members of Cardinal Nation are cheering hard for their team to bring home an 11th World Series championship.

Perhaps none more so than Dr. Jeffrey Bonner, president and CEO of the St. Louis Zoo.

He somehow got roped into a bet with directors of zoos in both Dallas and Ft. Worth.

The bet is this — if the Cardinals don’t close the deal and end up losing this series, Bonner has to grab a shovel and go to work.

He’s agreed to shovel, as a zoo press release puts it, “1,000 pounds of animal dung” while wearing a Texas Rangers jersey.

If the Cards top the Rangers, things aren’t quite so bad for the zookeepers in Dallas and Ft. Worth.

They’ll also have to clean up after their animals, but only 500 pounds each.

They’ve promised to do it while wearing Cardinal colors.
