Former SIUE Student Convicted in Terrorist Threat Case

BELLVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A jury deliberated for less than four hours before convicting a former Southern Illinois University student of attempting to make a terrorist threat.

The jurors in Madison County also found 26-year-old Olutosin Oduwole guilty of unauthorized possession or storage of a weapon.

Oduwole is an aspiring rapper who insisted he was only sketching out lyrics when he wrote what authorities call a note threatening a Virginia Tech-like “murderous rampage.”

Oduwole could receive probation or up to 15 years in prison.
