ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Some sports scribes may be tiring on the topic of the Rally Squirrel and the Cardinals, but loyal Redbird faithful still believe the little furry fellow signifies eventual victory for the home town team.
As the World Series draws to a conclusion this week in St. Louis, the proprietors of Crown Candy Kitchen, Sherri and Andy Karandzieff, say that over 500 of their chocolate versions of the Rally Squirrel have been sold, and more are flying off the shelves.
“It’s greater than we ever expected,” noted Andy.
For the uninitiated, Crown Candy Kitchen is located at 1401 St. Louis Avenue, it’s home since it opened in 1913. And Andy Karandzieff has issued an open challenge to all members of the Texas Rangers to come to the restaurant and take Crown’s famous “Five Malt Challenge.”
“It might make them a little sluggish, and not in a good way,” Andy said.
