ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Saint Louis Police say they are prepared to close streets throughout Downtown St. Louis during and after Game 7 of the World Series if necessary. Mayor Lawrence O’Toole expects large crowds, but not problems. Generally O’Toole says, St. Louis Fans do not cause problems. However, where there have been problems, it’s usually related to alcohol.

Saint Louis Police have existing plans to deal with large crowds, so they are ready. In addition to uniformed officers, there will be several in plain clothes. Also, inside Busch Stadium, there is a special detail of off duty officers which are hired by the Cardinals to deal with any problems that may arise inside the ballpark.

O’Toole is cautioning fans not to become so intoxicated that you are not aware of your surroundings……he says criminals will take advantage of that.
