ST. LOUIS (KMOX)- Hundreds of thousands of Cardinals’ fans are expected downtown Sunday to join the team in celebrating its 11th World Series Championship!
The championship parade has now begun at 18th and Market. It will proceed, led by the Budweiser Clydesdales, east on Market to 7th Street, where it will turn south and into Busch Stadium.
A ceremony will then be held in the stadium, concluding with fireworks.
Busch Stadium gates open at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets for the Busch Stadium event sold out shortly after going on sale on the Cardinals website Saturday afternoon.
MoDOT and Metro are making it easier for fans to get downtown. MoDOT is reopening the eastbound lanes of I-64 between Jefferson and the Poplar Street Bridge, which are closed for road work, between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Metro is adding Metrolink service.
If you are driving down, you can park at meters for no charge.
If you can’t make it, KMOX is broadcasting live from the parade and stadium. After the ceremony, at 6:00 .pm., Scott Warmann and Kevin Wheeler will host a Cardinals Season Review.
