ST. LOUIS (AP) — A man from the Bronx is facing federal indictment for allegedly selling counterfeit World Series tickets.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 31-year-old Shawn Turner was arrested Oct. 27 after a brief chase by police. He was indicted Thursday.
The indictment says police were on the lookout after several fans complained of getting scammed. The indictment accuses Turner of selling fake tickets with a face value of $250 on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27. The Cardinals beat the Texas Rangers in games 6 and 7 of the World Series on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28.
Turner did not have a listed attorney.
