CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) – Negotiations have resumed in the labor dispute at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, but members of the SIUC Faculty Association remain on the picket lines.
Representatives from the union and the administration say they’ve renewed their bargaining with the addition of a federal mediator.
WSIU Radio reports that the two sides say they’re still working to agree on several issues, including tenure, academic freedom and financial concerns.
Meanwhile, the strike continues Monday with a student protest planned to show support for the faculty.
