Pair of Crashes Leave Three Area People Dead

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) –  A man is dead following a one-vehicle crash in St. Charles County.

29-year-old Walter Schorle of Elsberry dead behind the wheel of his pick-up truck, which had crashed off Highway P in St. Charles County.

The truck ran off the road and struck a guardrail, before bouncing back across the highway and hitting several trees.

Police aren’t sure when the crash actually happened — it was discovered Thursday around 1 am.

Late Wednesday night, a head-on crash involving a wrong-way driver left two people dead.

State police say 31-year-old Jeremy Hansell of Bonne Terre was going north in the southbound lanes of Highway 67 in St. Francois County when he struck an oncoming car head-on around 11 pm.

The driver of the second vehicle, 41-year-old Rickey Mowery of Ironton, was killed — as was a passenger in Hansell’s car, 28-year-old Jackelin Rincon of Bonne Terre.

Hansell suffered serious injuries.
