HIGHLAND, IL. (KMOX) - The Union representing Highland Illinois school teachers says they may go on strike in mid December.
Members of the Highland Education Association rejected the latest offer from the district and in a news release tonight say “teachers have reached the end of the line.”
The Association says raises and health insurance are the main sticking points and it claims the district had a 2-point-9 million dollar surplus at the end of the fiscal year.
The union says more than 700 Highland District residents signed petitions in support of the teachers.
