Former utility man John Mabry, who was a player with the Cardinals from 1994-1998, 2001, 2004-2005, has continue to be around the organization. Friday, the club made the announcement naming Mabry the assistant hitting coach. He replaces now bench coach Mike Aldrete and joins hitting coach Mark McGwire becoming the final coach of new manager Mike Matheny’s 2012 staff. Kevin Wheeler talks with Mabry about getting the job and what he expects with the new challenge.

The Baseball Winter Meetings begin Monday in Dallas. Texas. Matthew Leach, Cardinals beat writer for MLB.com, joins Kevin to discuss what can possibly take place next week with a lot of big free agents, including Albert Pujols, remaining on the open market.

Blues players and Purina Dog Chow are teaming up this Sunday to support animal rescue organizations with the 2012 St. Louis Blues Pucks for Paws Calendar. The calendar features Blues players with their pets, along with adoptable dogs and cats. Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo joins Kevin to discuss the event plus how he is working to get back with the team.
