BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOX/AP) – Two southwestern Illinois siblings are jailed after police says they beat their mother after she threw out their beer.
20-year-old Brittany Ferguson and 18-year-old Lindell Ferguson of Fayetteville are charged with multiple counts of domestic battery.
St. Clair County sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in the 2100 block of South First Street November 22nd to find the 42-year-old mother bleeding with a black eye.
Authorities say the mother told police the disturbance started because she threw out several cans of Bud Light because her daughter wasn’t old enough to drink it. The daughter then allegedly attacked, with her brother joining in. The two siblings fled the scene before police arrived.
Police said a 47-year-old man, who was at the home during the attack, suffered minor injuries.
Lindell and Brittany were arrested on November 28th. They are in jail on $10,000 bond each.
