ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — It’s time to move on.

Here we are, sitting on the edge of our seats waiting,  waiting…on Albert and his camp to make a decision.  A decision that will decide where he plays for the rest of his career.  With the circus atmosphere that has taken us, I say it is now time to move on.

For Albert, make a decision so life can move on in Cardinal Nation.

The rumors of what teams were in (and who was the secret team) came to a head last night.  I thought it was reported that a team from the BCS was now in the hunt.

At that point, I thought it was time to call time-out.

Really, folks, it is not that hard at this point.  All the cards are on the table.  We know enough about who has what.  So let’s get it done.

There are other things to address for both teams, but I guess this is theatre at its best.  We see this act way too much.  But if this is about Albert’s agent having his 15 minutes of fame, then his meter expired after the  Deadspin article.

As for Albert, all the talk about wanting to be here and how much he loves the fans… well, what’s changed if the money is close?

For me, ten years is a lot for anyone.  Marriages don’t last that long — as he or she can lose something off their fastball.

In this case, you do not let a legacy of Pujols’ nature leave over a few dollars.

So while there are pros and cons in Albert staying, at this point I just say make a decision so we can all move on to something else.  After all, Albert will be the winner no matter what.  His bank account will only get bigger… bigger than yours and mine for sure.

Mike Claiborne hosts “The Dave Sinclair Ford Sports Hub” weeknights from 9p-12a on KMOX.

It’s reaching the point where I am losing respect for Albert. If ti was truly about retiring as a Cardinal then choose to stay here. if you rather play for a losing team like the Cubs or a more than half empty stadium in Miami then please, make your decision, pack your bags and move. All that money will be freed up for other players. And that fan base you’ve enjoyed since the beginning of your career – it won’t be in those other two towns. They will boo you and treat you like dirt the minute you have a bad spell. Sure hope ‘God’ (i.e. your greedy manager) leads you the right way.

Greed on Albert’s part. I wouldn’t be upset if he left St. Louis. How can you build a quality team when you have so much money invested in one player. Also there is a question regarding how old Albert is too.
