Off-Duty Officer Shoots, Kills Suspected Teen Burglar

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX)– A teenager is dead, after being shot by an off-duty police officer in the officer’s home.

St. Louis police say the incident occurred in the 5100 block of Lotus around 6:30 Tuesday evening, when an off-duty Beverly Hills officer says three suspects tried to enter his residence through the back door.

That’s when the officer fired his gun, striking one of the suspects. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they believe the detective’s home was randomly selected.

The officer was not injured. He is on administrative leave, which is standard for an officer involved in a shooting.

Why is he on leave? he was not on duty…should of reported to work as usual.

The other two thieves should be charged with murder. They helped to kill their fellow intruder/burglar

    Excellent news.

If, and I am sure he did, the detective identifies himself as a police officer, he is then on-duty. The other two suspect can and should be charged with murder under the “Felony Murder Rule.” in short, if two or more persons are engaged in a crime, and such action results in any persons death, the living suspects are charged.

Good job, officer. One less piece of trash running around. I wonder what the situation would have been if it was a 17 year old girl home alone?

If these thugs were willing to enter a house at 6:30pm when there is a good expectation that someone would be home, they are very dangerous. I am glad he got one of them.
