DELLWOOD, MO. (KMOX) – There was no decision Wednesday night whether to dissolve the Dellwood Police Department.
Hundreds of angry residents voiced concerns about the City of Dellwood’s lack of transparency and not telling them sooner about giving St. Louis County Police control of the town of 4800.
City Administrator Frank Myers says exploratory meetings started in the middle of November. “On November 23rd we took it to the police board and they recommended that we continue dialogue and press it to the board of aldermen” said Myers.
Myers says dissolving the police department came up following a shooting, the Friday after Thanksgiving. “I’m not at liberty to explain all the details. It just wasn’t handled well” said Myers.
The Board of Alderman will take a vote on Thursday evening on whether they will dissolve the Dellwood Police department.
