East St. Louis, IL (KMOX)–A former Washington Park police investigator is ordered to prison on corruption charges.
48-year-old Kim McAfee of East St. Louis was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis to 26 months. He was accused of underpaying employees of his KLM Loss Prevention security company, but billing the East St. Louis Housing Authority and school district the full amount he should have paid.
The indictment claimed McAfee demanded kickbacks from the employees’ cashed checks to make it look like the full amount had been paid.
McAfee also was ordered to pay 69 thousand dollars in restitution. He’s also been barred from working in law enforcement.
