ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOX) — A St. Peters police officer suffered a mild head injury when his squad car was hit from behind Friday morning on westbound Interstate 70 near Mid Rivers Mall Drive.
Police spokeswoman Melissa Doss says the officer had just gotten back into his car following a traffic stop around 8:45 a.m. She says he’s expected to be released from a hospital sometime today.
No word yet on the condition of the person injured in the other vehicle, however those injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Three westbound I-70 were closed for about 45 minutes while police investigated the crash. Both the officer and the driver were treated at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
