Man Charged In Chase, Attempting To Hit Officers, On His Birthday

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOX) -A Hillsdale man is spending his birthday in jail, after allegedly trying to run over two police officers, leading police on a chase and being shot at by officers.

Investigators say La Vaughn Farmer of Hillsdale, who turns 29 Thursday,first tried to hit a St. Charles County Sheriff’s Deputy after being pulled over early Thursday morning.

After being chased into Maryland Heights police say he tried to hit an officer there. That’s when another officer shot at him, hitting the car.

Moments later the car hit a mailbox. Farmer and two other suspects ran but were caught.

Police found possible narcotics in the vehicle.

Farmer is charged in St. Charles County with assaulting an officer and resisting arrest. Charges are pending in St. Louis County.

Charges against the other two are pending.
