O’FALLON, IL  (AP) – Police in O’Fallon Illinois are searching for a man who allegedly drove a car off a dealership’s lot as a salesman was showing him the vehicle’s engine.

Charlie Meyer, owner of Meyer Honda in O’Fallon, says a salesman was showing the man the car Wednesday when he hopped behind the wheel and sped off.  He says the man had milled around the lot for a while before taking off. He had said he was waiting for a relative to arrive to look at the car.
The bright red 2007 Dodge Magnum was recovered Thursday in St. Louis, but there was no sign of the suspect.
